An international network

The AFLyon is a private institution of higher education and a non-profit organization. It is part of the network of 800 Alliances Françaises present in 137 countries (more than 550,000 students worldwide). A network run by the Alliance Française Foundation whose missions are:

  • To teach French,
  • To promote the French language and culture,
  • To disseminate the Francophone culture in the world.

Created in 1884, the Alliance Française organization is the largest cultural, educational and linguistic network in the world.

The AFLyon is the 3rd Alliance Française in France. It is administered by an Executive Committee whose members are volunteers involved in associations, education and culture.
