Three major figures in contemporary poetry
Linda Maria Baros
A French-Romanian poet, essayist, and translator, Linda Maria Baros is one of the most assertive voices in contemporary poetry today. Artistic director of Printemps des Poètes since July 2024, she is also secretary general of the Guillaume Apollinaire Prize and vice president of the French PEN Club.
Her collections—La Maison en lames de rasoir, L’Autoroute A4, La nageuse désossée—have been translated in more than 40 countries. Her bold and incisive work promises a powerful and vibrant opening to the festival.
Nimrod
Born in Chad in 1959, Nimrod is a poet, novelist, essayist, and publisher. Winner of numerous prestigious awards (Prix Édouard Glissant, Prix Max Jacob, Prix Guillaume Apollinaire, etc.), he has published more than thirty works.
His recent works include La traversée de Montparnasse, Le temps liquide, and Anniversaires & paquets cadeaux (2024). His deeply humanistic poetry explores memory, exile, and light.
Antoine Mouton
Born in Feurs in 1981, Antoine Mouton is a poet and novelist. The author of eleven books published by Christian Bourgois and La Contre Allée, among others, he has developed a unique style of writing that is both sensitive and performative.
A regular at public readings, he is currently working on creating a show in a public space with the Jeanne Simone company.
A launch under the banner of Francophonie
This opening night of the poetry festival in Lyon will set the tone for a month of celebration of words, voices, and languages.
