A week to discover French gastronomy in Lyon
For Taste Week, the Alliance Française de Lyon invites you to discover French gastronomy from a different perspective! Throughout the week, our teams and teachers will offer a programme celebrating food, French culture and conviviality.
Because learning French also means discovering the culture that surrounds the language, this special week will be an opportunity to taste, exchange and experience typically French traditions… with a little touch of Lyon, of course!
Food-themed activities with your teachers
During breaks, join your teachers for various activities centred around French gastronomy. A fun way to discover new specialities, expand your vocabulary and learn more about French culinary traditions.
The perfect opportunity to practise your French in a relaxed atmosphere… and perhaps discover some new flavours along the way!
A ciné-club celebrating French gastronomy
Gastronomy isn’t discovered only on the plate! Our ciné-club will feature a screening centred around French cuisine and gastronomic culture.
Through cinema, discover another side of France and its relationship with food, meals and sharing. A great cultural experience to practise your French comprehension while enjoying a convivial moment.
Dinner at an authentic Lyonnais bouchon
It’s impossible to talk about gastronomy in Lyon without mentioning Lyonnais bouchons! These iconic restaurants are an integral part of Lyon’s culinary heritage, offering generous, traditional and convivial cuisine.
For Taste Week, we invite you to experience this tradition firsthand with a dinner at an authentic Lyonnais bouchon, accompanied by one of your teachers.
A great opportunity to discover Lyon’s specialities, share a meal with fellow students and immerse yourself in one of the city’s most iconic gastronomic traditions.
Dinner at your own expense, by reservation and subject to availability. Please reserve by October 7 at the Alliance Française de Lyon reception desk.
Discovering French wines
France is also renowned for the diversity of its wine-growing regions and wines. To round off this week dedicated to gastronomy, discover the world of wine during a wine experience at Cave des Gratte-Ciel.
This workshop combines wine discovery and tasting, giving you the opportunity to become familiar with the vocabulary, expertise and traditions associated with wine in France.
