Our FLE training courses for teachers
The Alliance Française de Lyon offers intensive pedagogical development workshops for teachers of French as a Foreign Language.
Which diploma is required to teach FLE?
There are several degree programs to teach FLE, such as:
- The Master FLE (French universities)
- The DU FLE (French universities)
- The DAEFLE (Alliance Française de Paris and CNED)
These diplomas allow access to teaching positions in schools, universities, or language centers such as the Alliances Françaises.
At the Alliance Française de Lyon, we do not award a FLE diploma. Our programs are short workshops designed to:
- improve teaching practices
- enrich lessons
- observe real classes
- develop practical skills
- experience the courses of a recognized French school
They perfectly complement a degree program or a first teaching experience.

Why choose the Alliance Française de Lyon to teach FLE?
At the Alliance Française de Lyon, learning French is first and foremost a cultural immersion and a human experience. Our teachers are all qualified experts (Master 2) and FLE-certified, using a communicative and action-oriented method. From day one, learners are encouraged to speak and interact to progress naturally in French.
Courses use the Défi actuel (A1-A2) and Défi (B1-B2) textbooks, available in hybrid edition (student book + online activity workbook with videos, tutorials, and pronunciation exercises). The Apolearn platform centralizes materials, exercises, and videos for an interactive and enriched experience.
Our experienced teachers ensure coherent progression with clear objectives and final tasks in each session. Learners develop skills they can use in their daily and professional life.
