Immersive course – 5 months
The four-month immersive course at the Alliance Française in Lyon allows you to develop lasting fluency in French while discovering the local culture on a daily basis. This is also the duration recommended by the CEFR to validate a C1 level, provided you have already acquired the previous levels.
This French course is designed for students, expatriates, employees, or visitors who want to learn French quickly and effectively while discovering the culture of Lyon and French-speaking countries. It guarantees rapid progress and in-depth acquisition of the French language.
During 80 hours of classes, enjoy a real language study trip in France, in the heart of a cultural and international city, led by a team of French teachers who are qualified and experienced in teaching French as a foreign language.

The program follows the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Each level, from A1 to C1, allows students to develop the following skills:
- Listening comprehension
- Oral expression (continuous and interactive)
- Reading comprehension
- Written expression
Examples of educational activities in immersive classes:
- Practical workshops on specific topics to improve vocabulary and conversation skills
- Educational outings (Halles Paul Bocuse, Traboules de la Croix Rousse, Tony Garnier Museum, etc.)
- Role-playing and scenarios to develop oral expression
- Presentations and collaborative activities to improve oral fluency
The courses promote listening comprehension, spontaneous expression, and self-confidence.

A placement test is mandatory before the start of classes.
It is taken online after you register or during a consultation appointment.

In order to offer a modern and interactive experience, the course includes:

The placement test assesses language skills and places each participant in a suitable group. It is available online or during a consultation appointment.
After registering, you will receive an email giving you access to our online platform. You will start with a self-assessment, which will enable us to offer you a test tailored to your profile.
This French placement test, based on the four skills of the CEFR (listening and reading comprehension, speaking and writing), lasts between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes.
It is then corrected by an expert trainer from the Alliance Française in Lyon, ensuring accurate placement in the appropriate level.
