The “Mode d’emploi” Festival at the Alliance Française of Lyon

How can we rethink the way we write history, understand freedom, or make feminist voices heard?

That’s the challenge taken up by the Mode d’emploi festival, organized by the Villa Gillet. Researchers, philosophers, and historians come together to question our shared narratives and explore new frontiers in contemporary thought from climate disruption to modern forms of populism, through the study of emotions and intellectual lineages.

November 13th at 7pm - Meet Basile de Bure

As part of the Mode d’emploi Festival of Ideas created by the Villa Gillet, the Alliance Française will host Basile de Bure for a conversation around his book Is Justice the Same for Everyone? (La Martinière, 2024).
Born from an immersion among young people facing the justice system, the book examines the inequalities woven into that system and the barriers to reform.

A discussion that extends the festival’s core questions: how can we rethink our shared stories, our freedoms, and our relationship to justice?
