Screening of the documentary “In situ at the Deering Estate”

The Alliance Française de Lyon is pleased to invite you to the screening of a short film by Miami-based director Jorge Gonzalez Graupera.

The documentary features Franco-American artist John Bailly and his perspective on art, linguistic identity, land preservation (the mangrove) and the safeguarding of cultural and ancestral heritage.

This beautiful snapshot of French-speaking diversity takes place between Miami, Lyon and Paris. It is the fruit of John Bailly’s 3-year artistic residency at the Deering Estate in Miami, during which he explored issues linked to Franco-American identity, territory, environment and history.

After the screening, John Bailly invites you to share a moment of exchange around these subjects.

This screening will take place on July 19, 2023 at 6:30pm at the Alliance Française de Lyon.
