Objectives of the Evening Courses
The 32-hour intensive course at the Alliance Française de Lyon allows rapid and measurable progress. Each session is designed to strengthen the skills needed to live, study, or work in France.
You will learn to:
- Understand conversations, announcements, instructions, and everyday situations
- Express yourself clearly orally
- Interact naturally in shops, administrative offices, or transport
- Write short texts: messages, descriptions, forms, letters
- Improve your grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation
All the skills of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) are developed:
- Listening comprehension
- Speaking (both continuous and interactive)
- Reading comprehension
- Writing
Each session at the Alliance Française de Lyon includes:
- A practical grammar point, adapted to the level
- Vocabulary useful for lexical enrichment in daily life
- Practical exercises on varied topics and content, including texts, writing workshops, etc.
- Audio activities to develop oral fluency and pronunciation
Courses are taught by qualified French teachers (Master 2) with FLE experience, specialized in supporting international learners.

- Location: in-person, Lyon center
- Goal: intensive training adapted to a professional schedule, to learn quickly and effectively
What levels are offered for the courses?
The intensive course covers four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR):
- A1: introductory level: understand and use simple everyday sentences. Learn more
- A2: intermediate level: communicate in simple and predictable everyday situations. Learn more
- B1: threshold level: express yourself fluently and understand more complex texts. Learn more
- B2: independent level: communicate clearly and elaborate on ideas on a wide range of topics. Learn more
- C1: autonomous level: master French fluently and communicate smoothly on complex topics. Learn more
Each level follows a structured program, based on CEFR progression and includes practical exercises adapted to real-life situations.

What is the duration of intensive courses?
The evening intensive format includes 2 hours per day, 4 times per week, totaling 32 hours per month.
You can enroll for one, three, or four months depending on your goals, availability, and preferences.
This pace ensures regular immersion without overloading learners with professional commitments.
