Alliance Française’s temporary closing

Back to the list

Updates of March 23rd, 2020

Dear Students,

We are very sorry to inform you that the school will be closed from Monday 16 March because of the current health situation in France (Covid-19 Coronavirus).

Postponement /refund
Students can reschedule their course at a later date at no charge by writing at
Students unable to postpone their course can be refunded, and we will be able to process refunds when the school will reopen. When reopening, we will publish the detailed refund procedure on our website.

Accommodation in university residences
Since mid-March and until further notice, the CROUS refused to let new students check-in a room or a studio. They ask students who stay in their room/studio to follow carefully heath measures. They agree to let international students leave their room/studio without notice if they want to go back to their country (it is possible to leave in March without having to pay for April). In this case, please contact the your residence’s secretariat to draw up the exit inventory and send us the exit inventory’s photo at (or ask the residence to send it to us) in order to get your security deposit back.

All exams originally planned in April and May are postponed. We are waiting to see how the situation evolves to propose new exam dates.

Visas and residence permits
As the Préfecture du Rhône is currently closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the validity of residence permits that expire on or after 16 March 2020 is extended by 3 months. More information is available on their website.

For any other questions, please note that we will be able to reply at the reopening of the school.

Please check this section regularly as we will publish regular updates. Stay connected!

Thank you for you understanding and take care of yourself,

The managing team
