TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français)

The « Test de Connaissance du Français” ( TCF) was Created in 1999 by the CIEP, Ministry of Education. It’s an open French level assessment test.

The TCF is a multiple choice test with 80 items. The compulsory papers include :
- Oral understanding
- Grammar
- Written understanding

The TCF evaluates and classifies candidates following the levels in the Common European Framework of reference for Languages.

The TCF also offers two optional papers: written and oral French.

TCF scheduled sessions for 2008 : *Febuary 29, April 25, May 30 et November 28

*Closing date for the April 25 session: March 31 at 12:30

1. REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

NB : You cannot sit twice for a TCF test within 60 days.
 
a)  You can download the TCF registration form :and send it back filled and signed together with the payment to our address three weeks before the session date :

b) You’ll receive by post your summons to the TCF. You’ll have to show this document on the session day

 
2. TCF SESSION DAY
 You are invited to come to the l’Alliance Française de Lyon, 11 rue pierre Bourdan, 69003 LYON on the session day at 9:30 am.
Compulsory papers:
The test begins at 9 :50 am
And ends at 11 :20 am
 
Optional papers : (if you are registered)
-Written French :
The paper begins at 11:30 am
and ends at 13:15 pm
 
-Oral French :
The same day as from 1:30 pm. You’ll be informed at what time you’ll pass your oral test on the session day.

NB: No candidate will be allowed in the examination room after the test has begun.
Your registration fee is not  refunded in any case.

NB: You must hold a black ball pen and bring with you an ID card or passport which will be asked for before the test starts. Non official documents are not accepted.

NEW: L’Alliance Française de Lyon organizes training classes before each TCF session, all year round. These classes are for students with at least an A2 level
in French.

Training classes : April 14,15, 21 and 22 2008

TCF session scheduled on May 30 2008
Training classes : May 19,20 ,26 and 27 2008

TCF session scheduled on November 28 2008
Training classes : November 17, 18,24 and 25 2008

Each training duration : 6 hours
Days : Monday and Tuesday from 12 :30 to 2 :00 pm
Rate for 6 hour training classes : 43.50 €
