General Presentation

In order to surf more easily on the site, we would like to guide you by giving you the precise references of the courses. We hope that all the information available on this site will become more understandable to you.

Courses

The General French Courses provide you with all the linguistic tools (grammar, vocabulary) and the necessary training (written and oral) to learn fully the language. There are two types of courses: intensive (every Tuesday from 9 AM to 12 or every afternoon from  2:15 PM to 5:15 PM) or extensive (Tuesday and Thursday from 6 to 8 PM)

If you wish to learn intensively French, in addition to the General French courses, you can choose to register for one or several of our complementary courses which are:
- Conversation course
- Cultural workshops (in summer)
- Phonetics course
- Development of writing skills
- Improvement of writing skills
- Grammar modules

A course which is related to a specific field (professional or not) is called a course with a specific objective:
- Legal French
- French for business which prepares for the DFA1 and DFA2 diplomas of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris
- Medical French

Students who are planning to have a long stay with l’Alliance Française de Lyon can choose the University programmes. The University programmes, 2 of them, open rights to Social Security for Students, CROUS advantages and employment. They start in September and finish end of June of the following year. The admission to the University programmes is submitted to different criteria. The student must have the required level for one of the programmes and be present at the beginning of September in l’Alliance Française de Lyon.

Additional information

The pre–registration section allows you to register for one or several sessions in a year but your registration will only become definitive when you will have paid the total amount of your course, either online or on the site
When you pass an order for courses on line, 50€ administration fees are automatically added.
Also, 50 € for accommodation reservation fees are added to the amount to be paid if you choose the assistance of l’Alliance Française de Lyon to find accommodation when you stay in Lyon.
